4 People Arrested In Albert Lea After High Speed Chase | Crime
Four people were arrested in Albert Lea late Wednesday night. Two of those suspects were booked in the Freeborn County Jail.
Albert Lea Police say an officer spotted a suspicious vehicle near Collins Auto Repair on Main Street East at approximately 11:49PM.
When the officer investigated further, the vehicle sped off reaching speeds up to 89 MPH. They drove eastbound on Main St. E., then south of Main St. E. through a residential area and off road and along the railroad tracks.
The vehicle was found unoccupied in a hayfield near 2016 SE Marshall. The vehicle was identified as being stolen from Brooklyn Center, MN.
The suspected occupants were tracked to the Country Inn Suites in Albert Lea and apprehended.
Authorities say they are a 27 year old from Brooklyn Center and a 23 year old woman from Albert Lea. Those two suspects were not taken into custody, only questioned and possible charges are pending.
Upon further investigation, information was identified leading to a search warrant application for 1427 Academy Ave, Albert Lea, MN.
An undercover Albert Lea Police Officer was offered an amount of methamphetamine in exchange for $300.00. The officer identified himself and arrested both.
Charges are expected against a 29 year old man from Glenville and a 29 year old woman Albert Lea. Those charges are expected to be
- 2nd Degree Drugs with Intent to Sell Meth
- 3rd Degree Possession of Meth
- 5th Degree Possession of Schedule III Drug (vicodin)
The investigation was initiated by the Albert Lea Police Department in cooperation with the Freeborn County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
