In Albert Lea on Monday, the Civil Defense siren radios were converted to the narrow banding frequency as part of the ongoing mandatory migration that was undertaken last year.

The sirens did not sound during Wednesday's testing due to technical difficulties.

City Hall tells ABC 6 NEWS that technicians are working on the problem and hope to have them working by Thursday.

Some Sirens may be tested on Thursday as part of the repair work.

The week of April 16th is Severe Weather Awareness Week.  The sirens are scheduled to be tested several times during that week. This will provide another opportunity to test the new siren system.
