Tobacco Compliance Rates Rise | News

It is now more difficult than it's ever been before for minors to buy cigarettes in Minnesota, according to the state's latest tobacco compliance numbers. 

Every year, the Minnesota Department of Human Services randomly selects and inspects hundreds of licensed tobacco retailers, making sure they're checking IDs.

This year, they found the highest number of businesses doing just that.  More than 97 percent made sure to card their customers who purchased tobacco.
